There are many processes in the District clerk's office that are still done on paper and are handled by people that can be done on a computer and processed digitally. Automating these tasks would allow district clerks to focus on more complicated issues that need a human touch. This would allow the county to save money and pay district clerks more for the work they do.
The clerk offices are the nerve centers of Bell County. Everything runs through one of the offices as some point and if they don't function efficiently, neither does the county. As district clerk, it will be my job to go to the departments we work with and see how we can better serve them. Everyone in the county should see this office as a place that makes things easier, not more bureaucratic
The District Clerk's office handles a lot of records and a lot of payments. Anytime either of those are handled, there is a high risk of fraud. I will put systems in place, not just to process records and payments, but to ensure that the county is not being taken advantage of. We will be the county's first line of defense.
